DIY Modern TerraCotta Vases from Upcycled Jars

Today, I wanted to offer some ideas to make your own diy modern terracotta vases from upcycled jars. These two ideas can be used on any container to add that modern boho vibe to your home, office, or dorm! Plus, they are easy to create using things you already have at home. These next two ideas were made from a recycled salad dressing jar and yogurt glass.

Modern DIY Terracotta Vases

The first modern terracotta vase can be created once you have painted the container using the diy terracotta textured paint you have created. Then, dip the edge of an old gift card into some white paint. Careful that the paint stays on the edge evenly so that your painted line will stay uniform.

Apply the edge of the card onto your painted container to make a neat line. Continue dipping the card and applying it to the container as many times as you want to create a beautiful modern terracotta vase. Play around with the heights of the lines to create various effects on a collection of vases. Finish your jar with a coat of matte clear sealer if desired.

DIY Splatter Modern Terracotta Vase

The second idea is a modern splatter vase using an toothbrush. Dip the toothbrush bristles into black paint and gently run your thumb across the bristles as you hover the toothbrush above the painted vase. The paint will create an organic splatter of black paint! Repeat around the jar to create a seamless diy splattered terracotta vase.
