I fell head over heels in love with the Sinnerlig pendant lamp by Ikea as soon as I had seen it.  This quite popular pendant lamp can be found in many bohemian spaces.  Surprisingly, I have also seen it cross over to farmhouse, rustic style rooms, and other decor style rooms making this pendant lamp even more popular.  I’ve been staring at our kitchen pendant lamp for months contemplating how to updated it.

It’s a beautiful bamboo lamp, and it really could stay as is.  However, I wanted to add some character and pizazz to it.  Since I often change my mind on the color of decor pieces, I decided to avoid painting the lamp and opt for easier lamp makeover ideas.  I used the slits made from the bamboo weaving to decorate the pendant lamp with a couple different looks.  Not only was this much easier, but I can switch up the lamp decor more often.  You can add some character to your bamboo lamp with these two diy lamp makeover ideas!

A Floral Affair

For Pink’s graduation party, I went with florals in her favorite color (I’m sure you can guess what that is) and mixed in some of my favorite botanicals.  I purchased all of the pieces from Joann fabrics and snipped each of the stems to wrap around the bamboo weaving.  It’s super important to be very careful when wrapping the wires around the bamboo weave so you don’t break it.  Not only was this decoration great for her party, but it was a great summer look in our home.

Game of Tassels

My current kitchen lamp look is all about tassels.  These super cute tassels are from Woman Shops World on Etsy.  I chose four different colors and alternated them around the middle portion of the pendant lamp.  Use fishing wire or white thread to hold in place.  I think it’s a totally chic summer look and gives me so many ideas for this coming winter’s look.  Looks like I’ll be adding decorating the lamp to my seasonal decorating list!
