DIY Glass dome or Cloche bell jar
It is snowing today, which makes it a good day for a quick DIY project.
I made a DIY glass dome, sometimes called a cloche bell jar, using some inexpensive IKEA candle holders. What you’ll need is the POMP candle holder lantern ($12.99) , the NEGLINGE tea light/candlestick holder ($0.49), and a permanent adhesive. I used my E6000, which I’ve used on glass in the past and it works great.
Make sure you remove all the stickers. IKEA tends to also use vinyl stick ons as well, make sure you take those off. I had to use a little goo-gone to remove the rest of the sticker residue.
Then, clean the glass with a glass cleaner and dry completely. Apply the adhesive to the rim of the candlestick side of the Neglinge candle holder. Apply to the bottom side of the Pomp candle holder and make sure you have it centered. All done. Let it dry overnight before using.
You can use them for many things such as a cover for plants/flowers, food, jewelry, or a centerpiece with figurines underneath. I suppose you can also use it as an elevated hurricane vase too.
