DIY Engraved Wooden Candle Holders
I’m finally feeling the DIY bug! Fall time is my most creative time. The kids are in school and that gives me plenty of time to play. This week, I took a trip to Joann Fabrics to work on a fall diy as part of the #casachat on Instagram. This diy engraved wooden candle holders idea came together in just one afternoon!
If you love video tutorials and are looking for quick fall diy projects, be sure to check out all the ideas shared by all the creative participants. You can find all the videos available on my Instagram TV link. Here is the photo tutorial so you can save it to your Pinterest account for later. It’s so fun and quick that you’d want to make more of them!…. maybe as gifts??
DIY Wooden Candle Holder Supplies
To start your diy wooden candle holders, you’ll need to grab these supplies from Joann Fabrics. You can also use a wooden block or scrap wood if you have some around.
- wooden vases
- glass hurricane cylinder vases
- engraving pen or wood burner
- glue and glue gun or E6000
How to Make Wooden Candle Holders
(1) Now that you’ve gathered your supplies, you’ll want to clean off all the vases. (2) Using your engraving pen, create your own unique design on each of the wooden vases. Create interest by having the design wrap around the vase.
(3) Use the glue gun (or E6000) to make a string of glue around the wooden vase and adhere the glass vase to the top of the wooden vase. (4) Insert your favorite candle when the glue has dried and enjoy!
Decorating with Wooden Candle Holders
Use your newly created wooden candle holders for a beautiful fall table display. I used a pops of color coming from the velvet pumpkins and Moroccan tea glasses along with deep fall florals. More to come about those decor pieces soon!
You can also use your new candle holders for a beautiful, organic fall display on your mantel, outdoor table, or bedroom. The options are endless! Where would you use these candle holders? Let me know in the comments below.
I’d love to see your creations! If you had created your own set of these wooden candle holders, be sure to post a picture of it and tag me @casawatkinsblog to your photo on social media!
Happy decorating and happy FALL!
