Honest Review of Loloi Synthetic Cow Hide Rug

The most important aspect of a rug is definitely it’s feel.  Who wants to walk on a harsh rug?!  I walk barefoot most of the time, so every rug in our home must be soft and cozy.  Chi-Chi (3 years old) adores anything with a soft texture and she loves to lay on this rug and play with her toys.  As soon as I had rolled out half of the rug, she immediately was on top of it and snuggling with her blanket.  The texture of the rug is smooth with very slight coarseness that goes hand in hand with the feel of real cow hide.  It’s an incredibly soft rug to walk on.

The rug doesn’t shed at all since the initial vacuum.  You will notice that there are pieces of the fibers separated when you initially roll it out.  I vacuumed the rug and it hasn’t done it since then.  This rug is vacuumed once a week without any issues as well.  We had Nugget’s birthday party last week with several children running around the house.  I didn’t see a single fiber pulled out of place!

When you first receive any rug, you’re worried about the lay of the rug.  Do the corners flip up?  Will it bubble up with furniture?  Well, this rug does take about a week for the corners to lay flat.  Since the cow hide rug has uneven edges, naturally since it represents hide, you may see that some corners take a bit longer to lay flat.  If you are expecting company or can’t wait the few days, you can speed up the process by using small rolled pieces of duct tape to attach the underside of the rug to your carpet/floor.

Overall, I’m super happy with the look and feel of this rug.  So is my sister who is constantly trying to take it!  The Grand Canyon rug is made by Loloi and is currently on sale and available to purchase through Rugs Expedition.
