Colorful Coastal Cottage Dining Room Makeover Reveal
Hola amigos!
Estoy muy feliz para ensenarte mi comedor!
I am so happy to show you my new dining room!
I have been slowly working on this makeover for over two months. Life of a busy mommy made it quite difficult to complete this room in 30 days as my challenge required. I am so happy with the turn out and even the hubby likes it. He doesn’t really say too much about my makeovers. I guess it’s too much to ask for a hubby to jump up and down at a finished room, lol. Disclaimer: It was a very sunny day so the window is blasting with sun!
I love the incorporation of the coastal elements with colorful accents. Coastal decor doesn’t have to stay shades of blue and white (though I LOVE that look). The dining room wall color is a silvery shade of blue. I wanted to complement the blue with yellow and coral/orange accents. I ended up including teal as well. Why stop at only two colors?
The buffet table was one of my first painted furniture projects. The butter yellow buffet was originally used as a tv console, but was moved into the dining room. The original knobs were switched out for these clear knobs from HomeGoods. I was able to get the hubby to help me cover the chairs with this bold patterned fabric from Joann Fabrics as a Mother’s Day present.
The Kirkland’s gold anchor pillow was so beautiful that it went right into my cart as soon as I saw it. The gold anchor pillows just needed a little buddy so I paired them with a teal colored lumbar pillow from Pier 1. There are so many vibrant colors that you can draw from just the chair fabric.
I used the buffet table to show off some my thrifty finds. I shared my buffet table styling and details about my thrifty makeovers on a previous post. You can read all about it here. I moved my awesome thrifty pineapple tray to the opposite side of the buffet and added my new DIY ginger jar. I also added one of my new starfish accents that I saw while checking out at Joann Fabrics.
Finally, lets take a look at the tablescape. I used a variety of items I already owned as well as new purchases to make this colorful coastal themed tablescape.
Thank you so much for stopping by my casa. I hope you enjoyed the dining room tour. Just to remind you, here is how the room started.
