Colorful Basement Office Makeover Plans

So, I’ve decided to tackle another room makeover! Yes, I am super crazy to do this especially during the busy fall season. I have stayed away from the One Room Challenge the past few years, because it had caused so much stress to tackle the room plus all the birthday parties and holiday celebrations at my house.

Basement Office Before

It’s been long enough for me to forget about the stress and just have fun with this basement office makeover transformation. I’m making final touches on the family room so didn’t want to tackle that since I don’t have the budget for the sofa replacement. Instead, I’ve stolen the hubs office for myself and I’m going to transform that into a colorful basement office plus studio space.

The office is in the basement and has had the wall and carpet removed since we had a water leak in the office. So, I’m almost starting from pure scratch with this space.

What I’ll need is a creative space that is just as colorful and vibrant as I am. Storage, of course, is a must plus a little seating area to catch up on some reading. I’ll also recycle a few pieces from my boho chic office which have barely been used. I noticed the big lack of lighting in the other office and got pretty jealous of the lighting streaming into my hubs office…..so……. we’re doing a switcheroo.

Sooo, where is this room heading? I’m not too sure just yet, but here is a little mood board showcasing the vibe I’d like to see. However, you know me, my rooms develop pretty organically and go through a couple changes based on how I feel the room is coming along.

One of the biggest ways I plan to incorporate color is to use the Kitty Mccall Wilderness wallpaper by Milton and King on the ceiling! I’m so excited to try this out! I’ve never wallpapered the ceiling, but have had great success in wallpapering with Milton and King paper. Do you remember my bold dining room transformation?

I’ll be adding a few new pieces, but I realized that I had SOOOO many things in storage that have never even been used or need a quick update. Stay tuned for all those projects coming your way and follow along as I make over this office space in practically 1 month!
