Global, Eclectic Living Room Makeover: One Room Challenge Week 2

Hola!
Boy this week flew by so fast!  It’s week 2 of the One Room Challenge and it’s time to check in with my living room makeover progress.  Be sure to head over to Linda’s blog, Calling it Home, to see what the official and guest participants have done this week.  If you have been following me on Instagram, you saw a few pictures of some of the wonderful items I was lucky to have sponsored for this room.  I received the stunning Kaleen Global Inspired rug from LampsPlus and am so excited to finally see this rug in person!

The colors are amazing and it looks great with the gold mirror I plan to incorporate into the room.  I love the little bit of green peaking from the rug and am thinking of using it for the wall stenciling.  I received the Sophia Trellis stencil kit from Cutting Edge Stencils.  My original plan was to complete the stenciling this past weekend, but I couldn’t decide on which color to use.  I can paint any little thing, but am so hesitant when it comes to walls.  I took two weeks to decide on the greige color I have now.

I found a little inspiration from a picture I snapped of the pears sitting on top of my china cabinet.  I love the green with my already greige wall color.  Plus, it is just the right shade of green from the new rug.  Looks like I’ll be taking a trip for paint this weekend.

Along with the wall stenciling, Cutting Edge Stencils provided two Paint-A-Pillow kits and I am so excited to get those made this coming weekend.  I am just as excited to share that I have a new addition to my living room!  Though, it hasn’t undergone it’s transformation yet.

I scored this chair just this week for $20!  The shape and details of this chair are exactly what I had hoped to find.  The fabric isn’t the right color for the room and the wood needs some staining, but otherwise the chair will make a great fit.

I am not sure whether to recover or paint the fabric of the chair.  The fabric is velvet, which I have heard it still okay to paint.   However, the floral design is slighty raised so there could still be a floral imprint left even after painting.  The chair needs at least a couple of days work, but I’m hoping to have it transform it into a chair similar to one of these inspirational chairs.
