Bilingual Color Cards

Hola,

Nugget and I have begun working on naming the different colors in Spanish.  We started with rojo for the color red.  He kept saying “ojo” instead of “rojo” which was really cute.  Especially since he kept poining to his eye, which is “ojo” in Spanish.  By the end of the day, he was saying it correctly.  To emphasize the colors, I used a set of bilingual color cards that I made.  He was able to point to the color red and correctly identify it as rojo.  I have the entire bilingual color cards set available as a printable for you.  I recommend laminating the cards to extend their use.

I have also used these cards as a matching game for Chi-Chi.  She can’t say all the colors yet, but she does do a good job matching the pouch top caps to the circles on the cards.  The caps of their food pouches are such a great size for a manipulative.  I always save them and have used them for many activities.

The bilingual color cards can also be used to practice counting skills.  After we worked on identifying the colors, Nugget and Chi-Chi liked counting the circles and placing the caps on them as they counted.

Hope you enjoy the cards as much as they did.
