Simple Rustic Global Easter Tablescape

Wow, it’s day 5 of a Very Global Easter!  I was worried I wouldn’t be able to make the entire week of posts.  My son has been home with me while he’s on spring break.  This energetic 6 year old is really into showing me what he can do.  So my creative time has been interrupted several times this week, but for good reasons.  I love how excited he gets when he shows me a new skill or accomplishment.  He stopped by while I was working in the dining room o tell me how much he loved my simple rustic global Easter tablescape.  Well, not in those words exactly.  He said he loved my bunny and decorations.  I shared my global style Easter tree with the paper mache eggs earlier this week.  I used both to create my table centerpiece.

We keep getting hit with snow storms, so Easter doesn’t feel like the start of spring all that much this year.  I wanted to create the look of spring in our dining room regardless of the snow piling up outside.  I used dried flower petals and leaves to create a runner for the table.  Fresh flowers in colorful vases add to the spring vibes.

For the place settings, I used some thrifted vintage German china plates.  They have pretty blue florals touches that are great for spring.  I fell in love with this china as soon as I had spotted them.  They remind me of my time in Germany and my mother, who has purchased china plates from several of the places we lived at.  I’m pretty sure I get my love for table decorating from her.  I alternated between paper mache place setting labels and a wood slice for the kids’ place setting.  I’ll be sharing more about the wood slice next week, but you could also use my Scandinavian wood slice ornament for the place setting too!

  1. The table runner with dried petals and blooms is such a cute idea! It feels like a garden party. I totally agree with your son, I love the bunny and decorations too. And the pops of blue, yellow, and green, and that gorgeous rug just really brings it all together. I can’t believe you got all this done during Spring break this week. You are a super mama and blogger! xoxo
