The Winter Blues… Decorating with Indigo

Beat the winter blues! My favorite decor for decorating with indigo!

As a lover of color, neutrals and winter whites typically get blended with some other pop of color.  Winter decor at Casa Watkins doesn’t tend to look like traditional winter decor.  I shared 3 ways to transition from Christmas to winter decor the other day, but I didn’t add that my go to color for winter is blue.  Not just any blue, but indigo blue!  This powerful, moody hue of blue is getting more and more popular.  It’s even crossing over several different home styles.  You can definitely expect an indigo pillow or blanket in a bohemian home, but nowadays you can spot indigo decor even in a farmhouse style home.  I spotted a few in a recent Fixer Upper episode.  That Joanna Gaines has some style!

Today we are beating the winter blues and decorating with indigo.  Here are a few of my favorite pieces from the new indigo line at World Market.  You may spot some of these in my own home in the next month!  Okay, perhaps more than one.

One of my favorite things about any shade of blue is that it blends very well with practically every color.  I mean, a pair of jeans can be matched with any color top!  So, the same can be expected when decorating with indigo.  My favorite blue color combination is when it’s paired with green.  However, you may be seeing indigo matched with shades of pink, brown, teal, copper, and of course white this season.  These color combinations also transition into spring very easily.  Get more from your indigo decor by selecting items that pair well with spring colors too.

I’ll be working on my office makeover for the New Year, New Room refresh challenge the rest of this week, so I’m wishing you a great weekend of decorating!
