Need a quick movie snack? Make a popcorn with almonds snack that is tasty!
Monday through Friday, the kids and I tend to hear what the national food day is over the radio. I don’t really plan out any kind of celebration for it, but the kids love to partake every now and again. Well, today is national popcorn day. Not only is this one of my favorite snacks, but I love to eat it during our evening especially during our movie times. One of the ways I love to enjoy popcorn has to be as a popcorn with almonds snack. It’s really the best of both worlds. I don’t like to eat too many calories before bed. So this popcorn with almond snack ties me over enough that I don’t go crazy raiding the pantry for snacks.
It’s super….and I mean SUPER easy to create. Plus, the kids can add their own mix or add ins to create their own popcorn snack. You could even have a popcorn bar with chocolate candies, gummy bears, chocolate chips, raisins, cranberries, yogurt melts (my 4 year old daughter loves these!) and other little treats to add to their popcorn. Me, I’m perfectly giddy with just the almonds.
Popcorn with Almonds
To make your own popcorn and almonds snack, prepare your popcorn as you normally would. We have the stir crazy popcorn maker and LOVE it. We use it every week and it has lasted for years! To the popcorn, add a bit of powdered butter and salt to taste. Then add a couple handfuls of almonds to the popcorn. Toss it together and enjoy!
