Create simple Scandinavian centerpieces two ways for your global holiday decor.
I can’t believe I have managed to maintain simple styling this Christmas season! The fact is, I love full spaces and maximalism in my home but the holidays have crept up rather quickly on me. I challenged myself to decorate my home this season using simple bohemian and globally influenced ideas. So far I have maintained the simple styling and I have surprisingly enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. Would I do simple styling all year long? Probably not. However, this Christmas season has definitely opened my eyes to the possibility of more Nordic or Scandinavian simple decorating. Today, Kathy of Up To Date Interiors and I are continuing the Very Global Christmas series and sharing centerpiece ideas.
Simple Scandinavian Centerpieces
Scandinavian decor has a tendency to create a cozy, hygge filled home with the most minimalistic of styling. The warmth that is created with neutrals and earthy elements is perfect for Christmas decorating. I used a few items to create simple Scandinavian centerpieces two ways. These centerpiece ideas could be used on your dining room table, entryway table, or as mantel decor.
The first centerpiece is a simple Scandinavian advent centerpiece. I used small rocks to hold the candles in place, then surrounded the candles with moss. These advent candles create such a warm glow and makes you want to huddle around a fireplace with a mug of hot cocoa.
**PLEASE NEVER LEAVE CANDLES UNATTENDED! MOSS IS FLAMMABLE. REMOVE MOSS IF YOU WANT TO LEAVE CANDLES ON MORE THAN 1 HOUR**
The second centerpiece is similar to the advent, however I used some plaid ribbon from the Hearth and Hand line at Target. I can’t stress how shocked I am that I love this new Target line by Chip and Joanna Gaines. I’m no farmhouse style decorator, but this line has some items that can be used in Scandinavian styling. I used several decor pieces to decorate my dining room and the stockings for my boho chic mantel.
I love how these simple Scandinavian centerpieces turned out and I will be sharing where they end up later on. Stay tuned for more globally inspired Christmas ideas as Kathy will be sharing her Scandi centerpiece idea with DIY candles. Missed A Very Global Christmas post?
