Simple Boho Christmas Room Tour
Kick off your holiday decorating with ideas from my simple boho Christmas room tour!
It’s Christmas time at Casa Watkins Living and I’m super excited to welcome you to the first day of the new A Very Global Christmas series! For the next 12 days, I’ll be sharing globally inspired Christmas decor and DIY ideas to help you get your home all spiffy for Christmas. You’ll get double the global goodies daily when you head over to my buddy Kathy’s site at Up To Date Interiors. Today, we’re both sharing our living rooms in conjunction with several other bloggers for The Very Merry Christmas home tour hop hosted by Carrie of Lovely Etc.
This year, I’ve decided to take a more “Simple” approach to my winter and Christmas decor. Now, if you’re new to Casa Watkins Living, you probably don’t know that I don’t typically use the word “simple.” I’m a maximalist at heart and enjoy a full styled space. Toning the decor down for the winter this year is a new venture for me and I rather love the way it turned out. I took inspiration from Scandinavian style and put my own spin on it. I used nature inspired pieces, toned down the colors, and spaces full of hygge to create a globally inspired boho Christmas room. Be sure again to check out all the other wonderful Christmas tours at the end of the post!
Simple Boho Christmas Tour
My winter decor color scheme came from this beautiful parrot art from Cozamia. I’ve had this art piece for a couple of years now and it’s not what you think of when you think winter decor. However, I was up for the challenge this year. You’ll see ways I incorporated colors from this art piece in my family room mantel, which I’ll be sharing tomorrow! I started by removing the copper pillows I used for my fall tour. I was left with the teal pillows and mixed them with the ivory textured pillows. A nice cozy, fuzzy blanket and no other sofa fluff needed. The zig zag velvet pillow transitioned from fall to winter very easily if I do say so myself. I was a little skeptical, but I received so many thumbs ups when I asked about using this pillow for the winter on Instagram.
The teal and blue colors continued to the coffee where I placed a small collection of glass jars from Joann Fabrics. The wooden bowl was a thrift store find for only $3! A few pinecones and gold glittery ornaments complete this simple coffee table decor. I opted for an ornament free tree this year, and used faux berry twigs, hydrangeas, and mini bells instead. This tree is quite simple compared to the one I’ll be sharing next week that’ll be in my family room.
Speaking of trees, I decorated the side table very simply with a few super cute mud cloth inspired wooden trees in my winter color scheme year. Stay tuned for the tutorial and an additional way to decorate these wooden trees on the blog Wednesday!

Hi Stephanie,
I love your unique take on Christmas decor. It is so fresh and beautiful!
Randi 🙂
Steph, this is really pretty. I love, love, love the christmas tree and how you incorporated pheasant feathers into your decor and I am really feeling the teal.
I am having a fit over those mudcloth trees….you are so creative, friend. Your home looks like a boho, Holiday dream. Wonderful job as usual.
Much love,
Erica
your living room always looks so lovely and so you, and the tree fits in perfectly!
Your Christmas living room is beautiful! I love how your did your tree – I’m now eyeing my own thinking of what I can change, ha! Merry Christmas friend 🙂
It’s so beautiful Steph! I love that you used simple and boho but it still reflects your signature style. I’ve been feeling the same about toning down my usual maximalist nature. lol Your tree is my favorite!!
Such a beautiful space! I love how you decorated the tree! I’m feeling like going more simple for Christmas this year, too….lot of that going around I guess 🙂
Gorgeous!! I wish I could start all over again with decorating my house now that I’ve seen yours!! 🙂
I’m loving your more simple look! The colors in your living room are beautiful and I love the pretty flowers on your tree! Thanks for sharing.
So pretty! Love your boho vibe and layering textures. Gorgeous!
Maximalists, unite! I love your space – and the nontraditional colors still feel so festive. It’s lovely.
I love your style! It is beautiful and I love everything you added for the holidays!
So perfectly pretty and chic, Stephanie! Your tour is gorgeous, friend!
That tree!!! The sprays of berry foliage look so relaxed and elegant and natural the way you’ve draped and cascaded them down the tree – you’ve done a stellar job. I love the simplicity and uniqueness of this look! (Although I’m sure if I attempted it, I’d find it wouldn’t be at all simple, lol.) And those wooden trees are soooo good! Love! xo
Stephanie, I always get excited to see your home decor, especially at Christmas time. Once again you hit it out of the park with your style and taste. Love, love, love.
Beautiful Christmas tour Stephanie! I just love how colorful your décor always is!
Simply beautiful!!! I love the colors and the sense of calm in this room.
xo
