Thrift Store Fall Decor For 5 Dollars!

Thrift store fall decor for 5 dollars and my MUST VISIT thrift store aisles!

A few weeks ago I participated in a YouTube challenge where participants were to shop a thrift store for fall decor totalling under $5.00.  What in the world could you get for $5.00?!  We spend that much on a cup of Starbucks coffee!  Well, I took on the challenge looking for items that I could style for the fall, but still use all year long.  I’m emphasizing low-key fall decorating and using more fall inspired decor this year rather than traditional fall items.  Check out my fall living room tour to see how I incorporated inspired fall decor without going full fall on you.  I’ll be sharing my family room soon!

How I Shop the Thrift Store

The wooden decor aisle is a MUST VISIT every time I am thrift shopping.  You’d be surprised what items you find donated.  Bowls, trays, boxes, baskets, and more are available in this aisle.  Many times you can restore the wood with a good cleaning oil or update the items with a couple coats of paint.  A while ago I updated a thrift store bowl with paint to create an Aztec inspired bowl.  I have also created a tribal key bowl with a thrifted bowl using my etching tool.  I found a few wooden trays during my last visit and I can’t wait to show you the amazing finds very soon.

My second MUST VISIT aisle is the glass aisle.  I have a big time addiction to colored glass.  The colored glass can be used as easy seasonal decor simply based on it’s color.  Glass in shades of blue can be used in the winter.  Glass in shades of yellow and green can be used in the summer or spring; and orange glass for the fall.  Expand the uses of these awesome decor pieces by repurposing them.  Colored jars can be decor accents and vases on tables or mantels.  Colored glass drinkware can be used to propagate plants or as a beautiful shelf decor piece when not being used on a dining table.  You don’t need to wait for a complete set either.  Having mismatched stemware or glassware would look spectacular on a bohemian tablescape.

Thrift Store Fall Decor

For my $5 challenge, I scored an awesome wooden tray that had beautiful coloration in the inside as well as a orange glass jar.  You can see a look of the tray in the video.  I’ve shared all about my items and how I styled them on my Youtube channel.  I invite you to take a look at the video and be sure to let me know your thoughts in the comment section.  There are also more thrifted fall decorating ideas shared by the other participants.  I hope to share the full family room tour on Youtube soon, so subscribe to my channel and click the bell to be notified when I post new videos.
