DIY Fall Bohemian Macrame Wreath

Create a trendy macrame wreath with a twist! Simple DIY fall bohemian macrame wreath tutorial and 3 other global style DIY fall wreaths to create this week.  Thanks to Woman Shops World for providing the awesome tassels for this project!  All opinions are 100% my own.

Fall is in the air and the ladies of The Global Styler are back for another round of globally inspired diy projects!  Today we are sharing awesome fall wreaths and my DIY fall bohemian macrame wreath is an interesting one to say the least.  I was working on an idea for a macrame wreath and in the middle of it I realized that, I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO DO MACRAME!  Of course I didn’t have a backup plan for this macrame wreath idea and of course I waited until Sunday afternoon to begin my wreath for today’s post.  So… I came up with a super simple wreath that uses basic macrame knots and some interesting rope wrapping.  The resulting wreath was unique and oozes bohemian vibes perfect for any global boho home.

The diy macrame wreath is easy to create, but it did take me a bit of time to complete.  I’d say bank on 30 minutes to create this wreath, but you can easily revamp the wreath based on the time you do have to craft.  The loops and knots on the wreath can be switched up to meet your own home vibes.  Additionally, I love that the color combinations of the supplies can be modified to meet any season or home.  I personally love using non-traditional fall colors, so a blend of pink, green, yellow, and orange was right up my alley.

What You Need:

To begin, gather your supplies and cut stripes of the macrame rope about 36 inches long.  These will fold over to make rope lengths about 18 inches long.  I used 21 strips of macrame for my wreath and looped each one around the bottom portion of my embroidery hoop.

The next part involves a series of texture elements that are all based upon your own aesthetic.  I used the colorful silky yarn to wrap a few of the macrame ropes, both single and double strands.  I also tied knots between a few of the ropes to create a fishnet look with some of the macrame ropes.  Other rope strands were draped across and tied.  You really can’t go wrong here so have fun creating a unique to you look with the supplies.

Complete your wreath by gluing the faux florals around the embroidery hoop side.  You could extend the florals completely around the hoop, but I love the asymmetrical look of any wreath.   Hang your wreath on a door, wall, or on your fall mantel.  I’m working on revamping our garage door entry and this beauty will be hung there.  I’ll be sharing my garage entry refresh next week!
