A New Year and New Things at CWL

Happy New Year!!  I am super excited to start 2017.  Last year kicked my butt!  Especially the last two months of 2016.  Between all the illnesses, work events, and increased demands I was completely spent by the end of the year.  I’ve hit the reset button for 2017 and am ready to tackle what comes my way in 2017.  Do you feel a sense of renewal too?  I’m harnessing this energy and sense of renewal with a few blog events this month.

This week, I’m kicking off my 17 days of organizing tips for 2017.  You’ll get organization ideas, tips, and free printables to kickstart 2017 with one organized home.  We can all use a bit more organization in our lives…I sure can.  So let’s do this together!  I’ll be sharing tips for your home, family, and self starting this week.

Next week, The New Year New Room Refresh challenge is kicking off!  Now in its second year, the New Year New Room Refresh challenge is a 4 week room refresh event where I invite blogger friends to refresh a room in their home to mark the New Year.  Remember that sense of renewal I talked about?  Well, I harness that energy towards refreshing a space in our home as a visual reminder that the New Year brings about a refreshed self and home.  We will share our progress each Tuesday with the final reveal on the 31st.  I am excited to say that this year we will be opening the challenge to you!  After our reveal, you can link up a photo (or blog link) of your refreshed space!

Over the holiday break, I was hit with one of my most biggest shockers as a home decorator.  My hubs told me that he wanted a less casual look to our home and a more luxe style!  If you have been with me for a while, you know that I have a casual style.  I’m not that luxe, though at times I do like the finer things in life, but overall I love a home that feels cozy and welcoming.  So, throughout this year, I’ll be sharing my progress in updating our home style to a contemporary global eclectic style.  There will be new DIYs, new decorating tips, guides for how to update your style on a budget, inspiration design boards, tips for building a home style with your spouse or partner, and more.  This will be a new journey for me and I’m finally excited about it, now that the initial shock has worn off.

Finally, this is my second year blogiversary and I am so very thankful for you all.  You have truly pushed me to become a better writer, storyteller, and have been key to my creative drive.  Without you I’d really be writing just to myself!  2017 will begin a series of reader appreciation events.  Readers will receive more giveaways, special offers, and brand discounts this year!  Additionally, each month I will host a special reader appreciation giveaway.  You will be automatically entered into the giveaway every time you leave a comment on my blog post.  Winners will be announced at the end of the month on the Casa Watkins Living Facebook page.  Stay tuned this week with the announcement of the January reader appreciation giveaway!
