Make A Pumpkin Tray Centerpiece With Kids!

Thank you to Wayfair for sponsoring this Thanksgiving centerpiece idea!  All thoughts and favorable opinions are 100% my own. #TheCenterpieceChallenge

Thanksgiving is coming and everyone loves to take part in the decorating here at Casa Watkins.  From greeting guests to setting the table, my kids want to take part in it all.  This year, I had the kids help create a pumpkin tray centerpiece for their Thanksgiving table.  Not only did they feel super special that they created a pumpkin tray centerpiece for Thanksgiving, but it kept them busy while I was cooking in the kitchen.  I used the Rustic Wood Sheet Pan from Wayfair to house the kids’ painted pumpkins along with fresh florals.  Make a pumpkin tray centerpiece with the kids in your life and have them feel super special too!

I wanted to incorporate teal into my pumpkin display.  Instead of providing the kids with teal paint, I gave them a bit of yellow and blue washable poster paint.  We used this activity as a teachable moment and reviewed our colors and made predictions on what color would be made by mixing the paints together.  They went to town on these pumpkins and created a rather pretty faux marbled effect with the paint.  After drying for a few hours, the pumpkins were placed on the Rustic Wood Sheet pan tray.

A full bouquet of vibrant fall colored fresh florals with a few sprigs of faux greenery around the pumpkins completed the look.  Easy Peasy, right?!

The table setting was finished with vintage German china, green goblets, shibori inspired ribbon, and wooden cutlery atop of a white napkin.  You can easily insert a few printable Thanksgiving activity cards or coloring sheets into the napkin pocket.  The rustic wood sheet pan is also great as a bread tray!

I also used the tray to create a painted pumpkin and succulent centerpiece for the buffet table.  View this centerpiece idea along with 3 more quick Thanksgiving projects here.  You can also see other ideas for this great tray by visiting these blogs!
