Global Boho Girls Room Makeover

It’s a depressing and joyous time when you see your kid’s outgrow their crib.  Chi-Chi recently transitioned from her crib to toddler bed and that has prompted me to switch up her room.  I kicked off her global boho girls room makeover with Better Homes and Garden.  I shared a few pieces that would be great to start off her room makeover and you can see it all here.  Now that I have finally finished my plans, I’m finally ready to start working on the remaining aspects of her global boho room makeover.  Whoop Whoop!  I’m so pumped.

Let’s be real here.  I think when you become a mom and you decorate your daughter’s room, you tend to decorate it the way you wanted your own room growing up.  I was a big lover of color and still continue to be.  Chi-Chi loves purple…which is also my favorite color..and she loves to mix purple with pinks, blues, and greens.  She really is MINE!!!  I probably would have cried a bit if she only loved black and white.  Her new room will have punches of color mixed with global accents.

Here are some pics of the room right after the initial refresh.  The purple walls are popping, but there is lack of character.  Creating an accent wall with the Jungalow wallpaper, Nana in Pink, will infuse loads of character in this space and bring a balance to the purple walls.  For the remaining walls, I’ll use the Umbrella print from Minted to draw the color palette for the art as well as the room accents.  Pink, yellow, and blue accent pieces with a global vibe will give the room colorful globally influenced accents.

Hopefully, at the end of the next 5 weeks,  I’ll have something that looks vaguely like this.

Buckle in amigos, I’m going on this makeover journey tackling new techniques and experimenting with new color combinations.  I’ve showed Chi-Chi the plans and she seems excited.  Fingers crossed that I’ll be just as excited when the room is all done.  Here is a breakdown of the global boho decor pieces.  Some of these will be a DIY project, while others are going to be definite purchases.  Stay tuned for those great DIY projects coming your way.
