Boys Room Makeover: Global Traveler Theme

Hola!

A few weeks ago I began my daughter’s boho toddler room transformation and shared some of the changes I did here.  As soon as I had finished, my son kept asking when his turn for a room makeover would be.  I thought I’d surprise him with a boys room makeover with a global traveler theme for his birthday.  His birthday is not until October, but who wouldn’t want a traveler theme boy bedroom makeover for an early birthday present?!

Nugget is definitely a lover of traveling.   He loves to recount all of the events from all of our vacations.  Even the ones that I’m amazed he even remembers.  So, I decided to give him a global traveler themed room that not only incorporates some transportation elements, but also his love of Earth.  He is seriously into planets right now.  Globes, nautical maps, and photography from around the world work together to create an eclectic mix of travel themed accents.

Globally influenced textiles and fabrics make this room seem curated and yet still playful for a child.  I pulled together some items that are sure to give off a globally influenced vibe along with his current interests.  Toys, books, and trinkets will be organized with handcrafted baskets.

I still have some pieces that will need some updating and projects to complete before the reveal next week.  As a matter of fact, I shared one of the projects at Creatively Homespun today!  Be sure to check out my DIY faux moss picture frame tutorial there.  It’s super easy to make.  I’ll be sharing more projects leading up to and after the room reveal so stay tuned!

Wish me luck that I finish it all on time…..and that Nugget likes the room!
