Spring Fling Eclectic Home Tour

Hola!
I am super excited today to share another room tour today as part of the Spring Fling Home Tour.  If you didn’t catch the transitional and vintage style tours yesterday, be sure to catch them below along with the full list of each day’s tours.  Today’s spring home tours are all about eclectic style.  I shared the first part of my home tour here.  Head there to see the entryways and family room!  Our living room is one of my most favorite rooms in our home.  It’s located right next to the entryway and catches the most amazing sunlight all day long.  I’ve contemplated transforming the space into a work area since I already use the room for crafting.  The floors are typically covered with craft supplies and half done DIY projects.
I am especially happy to share this room since it was my first One Room Challenge makeover room and unfortunately was not photographed very well.  It was rainy all week, I just got a new camera and didn’t know how to work it, and I was sick with the flu to top things off.  You can see the final reveal of the room with the awful before photos here.  I haven’t posted the full living room since the reveal so this tour is practically my reveal TAKE 2.  Stay tuned next month for my next One Room Challenge makeover announcement.
So, let me take you on the tour and warning…PHOTO OVERLOAD!
Welcome to those who are new to Casa Watkins.  My home style philosophy is one that demonstrates a love of life, color, and is appreciative of multiple global cultural accents.  I love to mix an assortment of worldly decor items that give a nomadic, bohemian vibe with an emphasis on Spanish colonial and tropical island style.  Blame it on my Latin background, but I just love infusing every aspect of life with color.  From DIY projects, decor, recipes, and even in the way I dress!  My home is an expression of that love of color.
I have a complete obsession with blue and white porcelain, specifically if its chinoiserie influenced.  I have multiple pieces and love showing off my collection.  Check out my post on displaying collection vignettes to see how I created a vignette with my blue and white chinoiserie collection.

How cute are those Indian brass cranes?!  I’m always on the hunt for great finds.  These beauties actually came from my mother’s house…shhhhhh, don’t say a word about it.  She did give them to me completely tarnished and she was not fond of them at all.  I gave them a super quick cleaning using this brass cleaning method and they are amazing now!  My mother has not seen them since I cleaned them, but I have a feeling she’s going to want them back.
Last week I shared the first part of my spring tour and you saw that I love decorating with florals and plants for spring.  Who am I kidding?  I love flowers and plants year round.  Though, I do NOT like the little critters associated with them.
My couches are typically neutral colors and leather.  No, I did not choose them my husband did.  He loves these couches so I haven’t replaced them…yet.  Insert evil laugh.  BWHAHAHAHA!
Sometimes you just need to work with what you have.  I compensate for these couches by using brightly colored pillows and throw blankets.  I just bought this springy yellow and white striped throw from Target.  I’m not feeling my painted chair right now, so I used my throw to accent the chair and make it more acceptable.

So there you have it friends.  I hope you enjoyed a tour of my living room.  How do you get your home looking great for spring?  Be sure to hop on over to the other rooms being shared today or start the hop from the beginning.
