DIY Colorful Wood Bead Vase Filler

Hola!

I love when a project takes less than 5 minutes to complete and makes a statement in a room or vignette, don’t you?  I was placing my newly painted  DIY Aztec inspired bowl from yesterday’s post on my coffee table and it looked a bit lonely.  So, I searched my home for something to use as filler.  I thought about a necklace I owned, but unfortunately could not find it.

I’m pretty sure that Chi-Chi has it in her secret stash of goodies.  Haha.  I kept searching the casa for inspiration and came across some wooden beads.  These were the perfect mix of colors and took minutes to make into a colorful, wooden bead face filler.

In case you’re thinking, “Why does she even have random wooden beads!!”  Well, I bought a bag of beads a while ago for help increase the kids’ fine motor skills.  Stringing beads on a rope is a not only a great learning activity for kids’ fine motor skill development, but the colored beads also make it possible to learn math skills like patterns and counting.

This project is pretty simple, but does pack a punch on a table.  Simply tie one end of your rope and string your beads in any pattern you desire.  Place as many beads as you’d like and tie off the other end.

Here is a tip: leave the beads slightly loose on your rope so you avoid creating a stiff string of beads.  You want the beads to be able to move without showing too much of the rope.  A stiff string of beads will not be able to be manipulated as great as a lossen version.

Place your new beads in bowl, planter, or vase and enjoy this easy home decor item.

Thanks for stopping by my casa today!
