Global Inspired, Eclectic Living Room Makeover: One Room Challenge Week 5

Hola!
It’s week 5 of the One Room Challenge and I am amazed of what all the challenge participants have completed so far.  In case you haven’t been following the challenge, participants have 6 weeks to complete a full makeover on a room.  This great challenge is hosted by Linda of Calling It Home.  There are official participants who share their progress on Wednesday, and participating guests who share on Thursdays.  Be sure to head over to Calling It Home to see all the progress from all the participants after you finish seeing my progress.

Week 1 //  Week 2 //  Week 3 // Week 4 //

I have to admit that this week was a big bust!  Last week, I shared my new-to-me vintage Indonesian table set I scored from CraigsList.  I was so thrilled with my progress and was very motivated to complete my extensive list of projects.

Do you know what happens when you finally feel inspiration to work?

The FLU!

Of course I get the flu the only year that I didn’t take the vaccine.  Well, I am still struggling with my energy level and recovering from all the aftermath.  I haven’t had the flu since I was a teenager.  I can definitely say that having the flu with 2 energetic toddlers is an experience like no other.  Let’s tack on a hospital visit from Friday to Saturday and you have one blogger than was out of commission the entire week.  I’m still recuperating, but wanted to share the little progress I made before the evil flu hit.

I found two wonderful curtain rods at Joann Fabrics that were perfect for my living room.  The details in the finials are so beautiful.  You can’t tell too much from this picture, but the design of the finial is similar to the design of my new rug from LampsPlus.

The rods combined with the drapes liven the greige walls.  I wanted to accent the small green details in the Kaleen rug and the drapes turned out to be a perfect match.

The green drapes also complement both pillows from Aloriam!  The pillow colors were pulled right from the Frida pillow.  I had planned to share the two stenciled pillows for the room along with the final look of my thrifty chair makeover.  Unfortunately, those projects did not get completed this week.  Perhaps I will be able to share those projects with you early next week.  I did find a great chair in TJ Maxx which served as my inspiration for the chair makeover.

I’m thinking I can paint the fabric of my thrifty chair to achieve this look….maybe.  Here is the before picture of my chair.  Thank you all for the feedback last week regarding which chair to use in this little nook.  Find out the final decision next week on the room reveal day.

I also purchased a few frames for the gorgeous chinoiserie prints from PaperWords.  I have yet to decide which frames are best suited for the look of the prints.  Help me decide which frames are best next week when I’ll put it to a vote on my social media.

There is so much work to be done before the final room reveal.  I am hoping that I feel 100% better by Saturday so that I can put the rest of the room together.

It’s going to be great!

Don’t forget to check out the room reveals of the 20 official participants next Wednesday and over 100 guest participants next Thursday on Calling It Home.

Thanks for coming by my casa!
