Colorful Coastal Table Vignette

Hola amigos!

I am still enjoying my new dining room and it has stayed CLEAN!!! I can’t believe that.  Not a single toy or scrap of a snack has been in the room.  I wanted to share a closer look at the table vignette and share some of the quick DIY updates I completed to get the look.  If you missed the room reveal, you can check it out, here.  I am embarrassed about the before picture now.

I didn’t want to spend too much on a tablescape as I am already in the midst of planning the next room makeover.  New accent pieces were combined with pieces that I already owned as well as thrift store items to make a vignette.  I started with a folded piece of blue textured fabric purchased from Joann Fabrics.  The blue color complements the new chair cushion fabric.  I was so happy to find the gold ceramic urn at Goodwill.  It was only $3.00 and had a little chip at the rim, but it’s hardly noticeable.  I decided not to paint it after I saw how great it looked with the white tulips.

I love the light color of the glass candleholder next to the vibrant gold urn.  The candleholder is from HomeGoods and is the perfect size to bring some height to the vignette.  I tried a few different toppers for the candleholder, but in the end it looked much better plain.

Adding some sea shells to your home helps build a coastal vibe.  I have several sea elements used throughout the house, but sea shells are one of my favorites.  My blue urn was originally green colored glass.  I purchased the urn from Goodwill and was thrilled with the shape and size.  However, I wasn’t fond of the green color.  Rustoleum spray paint to the rescue!

The blue napkins are from Target.  A set of four napkins were on clearance for $3.00.  Clearly, that meant I was suppose to purchase at least two sets.  I have a fondness for napkin rings and tend to buy them all the time.  I used these pearly napkin rings to give the vignette a touch of elegance.

There is something very lovely about the look of stacked plates.  Two sets of plates were used for the vignette.  The orange plates are from the dollar store, while the white plates are part of my Mikasa china set.  The woven wood charger plate playing peek a boo was the one I had left after hanging three on the wall.

A coastal table can’t be complete without a lantern.  This big lantern is from Ikea.  I thought about spray painting it, but instead added some jute rope to the top.  They had a slew of jute rope in the dollar section at Target.  I used almost all of one roll to cover the top of the lantern.  Drift wood vase filler (also from Target) and another starfish finish the look of the lantern.

There are so many great finds at great prices in thrift stores.  I find that combining your thrift store treasures with fabulous store purchases can make one amazing vignette.
Thanks so much for stopping by my Casa!
